I Make Believe - Poem

Sometimes I make believe, I do,

That I no longer care for you.

Iím only lying to my own face

That Iím strong enough to win that race.

As hard as I strive to move ahead,

I take one or two steps back instead.

To deny that I miss your gentle touch

Would be a big lie, just a crutch.

So Iíll feel the pain and miss you badly

And get on with life, no longer sadly.

Forgiveness - Poem

It all has a reason, the suffering and pain.

What once seemed so perfect, has ended, again.

"This one's for real. This one is ready."

Then turn around next day, no longer steady.

The only conclusion for me, and for you,

Are lessons we learn, and forgiveness, too.

Lyrics combining both poems

Sometimes I make believe, itís true,

That youíve come through for me and you.

Youíve kept the promise that you made

That good feelings you had would never fade.

I believed my lifelong quest was solved.

Iíd finally met one who had truly evolved.

You set yourself above all the rest

And held your word up as the best.

Then time moved backward instead of ahead.

You took back all the grand things you had said.

Refrain

It all has a reason, the suffering and pain.

What once seemed so perfect, has ended, again.

"This one's for real. This one is ready."

Then turn around next day, no longer steady.

Refrain

It all has a reason, the suffering and pain.

What once seemed so perfect, has ended, again.

"This one's for real. This one is ready."

Then turn around next day, no longer steady.

The only conclusion for me, and for you,

Are lessons we learn, and forgiveness, too.

The only conclusion for me, and for you,

Are lessons we learn, and forgiveness, too.
